Bookplates for EVERYONE (well, everyone in the U.S.)

I feel bad for the readers who wanted to make it to events on my Raven Boys tour but couldn’t, either because of time or distance. I recently discovered that I have leftover limited edition bookplates in my office, and I reckon now’s a good time to give them away to readers.

This is what they look like (they feature the colored pencil art I did for the Raven Boys animated trailer).

Bookplate for Fountain Bookstore

Here’s how to snag one, if you want one. This isn’t a contest, just a giveaway, and I’ll keep sending them out until I run out. Unfortunately, because of my difficulties with IRCs, this has to be U.S. addresses only.

  • Ruth Anne

Will you be signing said bookplates (crossing my fingers)??? Now, where is that dog…..

    • Elise

Don’t forget to put a return address! Many post offices won’t send things without them!

    • Yes, of course! I will not be signing the dog, however. Peanut prefers to stay Sharpie-free.

      • I love how you say that like you’ve already found that out the hard way… 🙂

  • ‘Tis quite simple! Cute dog!

  • Jess

What if you have it on a E-reader? Like a Nook?

  • Izzy

I just wanted to tell you that your new book the Raven Boys is AWESOOOMEEEEE!!! Can’t wait to send you my picture and get a signed book plate!

  • Francoise

    Hi Maggie!
I know you run the giveaway only for US addresses, but I live in France and I actually have US stamps; so is it possible to send to you the picture and the demand too?

    • If you send them with a small enough letter (letter size) envelope that it will go through my regular mail, yes.

      • Francoise

Thank You, I’m going to do that 😀

  • Peanut!! She is so cute. 🙂 I recognize her from your art. I am so happy you are doing this, I have been wanting some of your art for so long.

  • Noella

Are we allowed to send notes/letters with it too?

  • Sarah

Can I send a screen shot of my iBooks copy?

  • Lori

I love those bookplates! I was one of the people who saddly could not make it to one of your events, due to distance. But now, I hope I’ll get one of these unbelievably beautiful bookplates to put in my copy of THE RAVEN BOYS (hopefully, I’ll get my loaned out copy back tomorrow so I can snap a pic with it.) I loved that book soooo much, and cannot get over how gorgeous the cover is. Love your books, Maggie!!!!!

Sad — I haven’t gotten the book yet (and can’t afford it at this time)…boo! Enjoy them all who get one!

  • Francisca

On the envelope with your address, do we have to put a return address?

  • Hi Maggie!
Any chance you’ll be bringing bookplates to your NCTE signing so us teachers can get them on site? If not, I can mail, but thought I’d ask first.

    • If I have any left by NCTE, I’ll bring them, but I don’t know what sort of response to expect! See you there. 🙂

I would love to have a book plate, I only have the audible book, I’m going to take a picture with my ipod showing the cover, Me and my parrot, Chloe!
I hope that is good enough, I can no longer comfortably read print.

  • Francisca

Just to let you know I’am including a note for you with my picture of me holding my copy of The Raven Boys. 😉

  • Too bad Canadians can’t enter. Hopefully you can come to Canada on your next tour.

  • Oh no! My book is at home and I am at college far away! What a sad day.

  • So Cool! The book plates are so pretty! I’ll send in my stuff, hopefully there will be some left! 🙂

  • Christie

As for supplying an online place to view the picture, would it be ok to include an email from which I can send the photo attached?

    • Mmm, e-mail won’t work, I don’t think – my inbox is overflowing as it is.

  • lisa

Hi Maggie, i was wondering the top picture with Blue kissing the boy, which of the raven boys is it? 🙂
PS. Absolutely love the book, when will the next one be coming out?

    • Esmeralda

I think it was Gansey because of the animated trailer (which if you haven’t already i recommedn watching) but I’d hate to ruin or spoil it so who knows

  • Kalli

Is there an approximate length of time we will be waiting for the next Raven Boys book? I’ve left myself notes all over my house to keep a watch out for it but if you have an approximate time-frame, that would be helpful 🙂 Books are pretty much my life haha

  • Jenny

Maggie, if there is ANY WAY that you can send them to Canadians, well I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to that (*begging*).
In other, slightly unrelated news, a while ago you were talking about a possible thirty-years-time sequel to the Scorpio Races. One of my favourite characters (other than Sean, Puck, Corr and Dove- technically not people, but STILL.) is Finn, partly because of his fairy-like tendencies and quirks. Is there a chance there will be a sequel or short story from his POV?
More unrelated news: rereading Shiver! How exactly did you come up with your version of the werewolf myth? It’s completely like any other book in its genre and the story as to how you thought of it would be fun to read.

  • Valerie

Just a random comment not about the bookplates. but i just realized Gansey+Blue=Glue XD

  • Dalyn

I absolutely LOVE the design! these bookplates look really nice!

  • Destiny Nezam

I am a huge fan of all your books, but my favirote is Scorpio Races. I thought it was super interesting with the water horses and how you described everything. I could picture Thisby and Puck’s house and even when Edana got cut… that part was sad. Anyways, I don’t like to reamble but that was my favirote book of all time. I got in trouble in class because I couldn’t put it down!

  • Since I found out about you and my cousin Bill racing as co-drivers I have been watching clips that you do and you are a nut and I believe Bill and you will do well together Rally Racing. Good luck to both of you.

  • I sent the letter with the link that involes my cat posing with the book but he wasn’t too cooperative

  • Dear Maggie,
It is my pleasure to inform you that your books, Scorpio Races and Raven Boys, ware selected to be on the 2013 Tayshas High School Reading List. The Tayshas reading list highlights the best fiction and non-fiction books for Texas teens. It is one of the most respected state reading lists in the country and generates thousands of book sales throughout the United States for the titles selected to be on the list.
Check out the following link if you would like to see what other books were included in the 2013 Tayshas High School Reading List. (Updated soon)

In addition, beginning this year the committee selected the Top Ten books from the list of 64 selected titles and Scorpio Races made one of the top ten books.

Congratulations and thank you so much for writing such quality young adult books.

    • Oh, Susan, this is wonderful news. Thank you for letting me know!

  • Megan

Umm is this still going on or has it ended already..?

  • Maggie,
I just wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU for the book plate. I was super excited when it came in the mail and my husband and my 3 year old thought I was insane (until I explained the sheer awesomeness of it).
Anyway. Thank you, again, and thank you for being such an amazing author who leaves me drained yet wanting more every time. 🙂
